Francesco Totti Backs Villagio Gray, and Cairo's Billboards Show It
Francesco Totti Introduces Villagio Gray on Cairo’s OOH
“ONE VILLAGIO WASN’T ENOUGH.” With Francesco Totti beside it, the headline introduces Villagio Gray to Cairo’s OOH landscape. White lettering stands sharply against a red background, while Totti’s orange polo shirt adds another bold colour to the composition. His signature sits beneath the portrait, giving the celebrity-led creative an immediately recognisable focal point.
Villagio Gray is a new West Cairo development from Modon Developments and BINBAZ Developments, located on Dahshur Link Road in New October City. The 22-feddan project combines villas, apartments, commercial and administrative spaces with a 90-room hotel managed by Campbell Gray Hospitality, which will also provide hospitality services to residential units.
One Villagio Wasn’t Enough
The headline connects the Villagio Gray launch directly to Modon’s original Villagio development. The developer has also used the same “One Villagio Wasn’t Enough” wording in its own communication around the new project, positioning Villagio Gray as the next chapter under the Villagio name rather than an unrelated launch.
Totti also brings continuity to that story. His relationship with Modon dates back to 2024, when the developer partnered with the Italian football icon to launch the Totti Soccer School in Egypt. The academy is tied to Villagio West Cairo, giving his appearance in the new Villagio Gray campaign a connection to the wider development brand rather than positioning him as a completely new face for Modon.
Totti Takes the Visual Lead
The Villagio Gray billboard gives passing viewers relatively little to process. The headline carries strong contrast, Totti provides the dominant visual anchor, and the project identity, partner logos and hotline complete the hierarchy.
That simplicity suits the demands of roadside OOH, where recognition needs to happen quickly. The oversized portrait can attract the first look, while the short headline gives viewers a compact bridge between the familiar Villagio name and the new Villagio Gray launch.
The balance between celebrity and project branding is still important. Totti commands much of the visual attention, so Villagio Gray needs to retain enough prominence for that attention to transfer from the ambassador to the development being advertised.
Where Hospitality Takes a Back Seat
The deeper residential proposition is less immediately apparent from the billboard.
Campbell Gray Hospitality’s presence introduces the hospitality connection, but the logo alone cannot communicate the scale of that role at driving speed. Beyond the creative, Campbell Gray is set to manage Villagio Gray’s 90-room hotel and extend hospitality services to the project’s residential units. The development itself is planned predominantly around villas, alongside apartments and commercial and administrative components.
That creates an interesting contrast between the product and the advertising. Hospitality-led living is one of Villagio Gray’s more distinctive characteristics, yet the OOH campaign gives the louder role to Totti, the Villagio name and the launch message.
The result is a billboard built primarily to establish recognition rather than explain the full proposition. It makes Villagio Gray visible through a familiar face and a short continuation story, while leaving the hotel-managed residential experience for audiences to discover beyond the board.
